Picture Books - Not just for the little kids!
How to use picture books in middle school:
Use as supplementary text - EXTEND the textbook
Differentiate instruction to readers of different levels, visual learners, English language learners, etc.
Don't only replace more complex text with picture books
Use the same book across content areas - TEAMING!
STEM - find books with concrete visual examples of complicated concepts and find books that can illustrate a concept
